A good run last night from Zefferino who finished a running on 4th at Chelmsford with George Wood on board.
We didn’t have a good draw last night but his normal routine is to ‘drop out’ (placed in rear) to settle his mind and that’s what we did for four furlongs. However, with not enough pace in the race George ended up having to take him wider than ideal, going around his competitors. He ran on well in the final furlong showing he definately wants further. Yesterday, we needed to get some ‘steam out‘ having had 200 days off the track and this mile back at Chelmsford was ideal.
After his run in November 2019 we gave him a holiday (3 wins under his belt) with the plan to run in March.... And we know what happened next.... Covid-19! He’s much stronger this year and if we can build on yesterday we will have some exciting days ahead of us! Well done Team.
Zefferino at Chelmsford yesterday, looking stronger. He’s probably wondering why there are no spectators looking at him over the rails!
