Exceeding Power does it again..... WINNER, WINNER, WINNER!

Yesterday at Lingfield Exceeding Power ran another wonderful race, winning under tactical thinking of GeorgeWood.  Although we finished 2nd on the line by a head we had been bumped along in the final furlong by the then winner.......STEWARDS ENQUIRY...... we were awarded the race in the stewards room!

The race was a 81-95 handicap run over 1m 4f  with just six runners.  It was going to be a tactical race especially with the quality of horses ...... possibly the best he has come up against.  Exceeding Power is a straight forward ride (you can put him where you like in a race) and George knows him well...... confidence between them is second to none.  In the race there was no early pace but we were in the best position.... up with the leader.  One simple plan was to kick first and let the pack chase us home.  As the pace quickened we pressed the leader and got the lead just over 1f out..... with the slow early pace and then quickening over 3 out we caught a couple of our competitors in the rear flat footed including the favourite.  Although just headed inside the final furlong we battled gamely to the line, head to head with Petite Jack and Cosmeapolitan just half a length down on us.  What we did not know was the head-on picture of the race was not pretty with Petite Jack continuously leaning on us inside the final furlong.  As George came back up the walk way to the enclosure he was confident he would be awarded the race in the Stewards Room...... and so he was!  A great result for the little horse, The Chalfonts his owners, George Wood and the Team back home.  Well done All.... lots of hard work paid off.

Yesterday after his race..... Exceeding Power was off the lorry and out in

the pen.  A very happy horse who covered himself in mud straight away!!
