We made the right decision re ground to go to Newbury in preference to Newmarket. The ground at Newbury was perfect for Nawar, slow good ground and definitely not soft as stated for the meeting!

Nawar finished 2nd, beaten 3/4 length by the winner and the 3rd was 6 1/2 lengths behind them! He was given a confident and positive ride by Elisha Whittington in a competitive apprentice handicap. We were expecting a good run after his previous run at Goodwood and 40-1 was an unbelievable price but we were not complaining!

Good run from Assembled at Kempton

On Wednesday we ran Assembled at Kempton in a class 4 race, 66-85 handicap, a hot contest but we had to go as the all weather options for him are very slim! Not only was this his debut at Kempton and highest grade of race but also his first try at 1m3f. We were confident he wouldn't let us down and he certainly showed a good account of himself by battling well 2f out to finish 6th.

The second placed horse had control of the race, setting slow fractions and turning it into a sprint finish! We were 7 lengths off the lead turning into the home straight (travelling well) and at finish we ended up 3 1/2 lengths off the second horse.

Certainly got the trip (distance) and a pretty good run for a horse who was only having his second run in 2 years!
