A long trip to Ripon today with the little Olympic Legend. So few races for him at the moment and having not had the chance to run him on soft ground (winner on yielding) we had to go after the recent down pours!
However when we arrived at Ripon the ground had dried considerably, looking more good with good to soft places than the soft as on declaration.
The distance was on the short side for him and with drying ground we had an impossible task! He was given a lovely ride by last years lady champion Sarah Bowen but when they quickened in the final 4 furlongs they left him flat footed finishing 10th of 15 runners. Looking at the positives it was another run under his belt after a long absence and legs appear good. Now to get back to Chelmsford for the staying trips in September.
A happy horse after his run at a Ripon
