Meet The Trainer
Martin Bosley has been a licensed, professional racehorse trainer of flat and national hunt horses since 1997. He has produced and revitalised some remarkable performers as you will see from the ‘Winners Table’.
Most notable winners revitalised by Martin who went on to win Grade 1 events were Rubhahunish (Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals) and Sabadilla, winner of The Galway Hurdle in Ireland.
Martin has a life time of racing knowledge and experience; previously a top amateur jockey from 1980 to 1983 and then middle tier professional NH Jockey from 1984 to 1997. During his professional riding years he represented Great Britain in Russia and Scandinavia riding over 100 winners. He rode for many trainers throughout the UK and was fortunate to ride winners for prolific trainers such as Henrietta Knight, David Elsworth and the late Captain Tim Forster.
Martin was born into horseracing with his father, John Bosley being a top NH Jockey in the 1950’s and then dual purpose trainer for 42 years. John produced good horses such as Eyecatcher, 3rd in the 1976 and 1977 Grand Nationals and Royal Ascot placed horses Bridge Street Lady, Corn Street, Pusey Street and Numistmatist.
Continuing to ride out daily, Martin ensures he is familiar with each individual’s character and abilities. He is renowned for his patience, attention to detail and selective race planning for each horse.
With regard to hobbies, Martin enjoys all sports, particularly golf.
